Trouble “Real Is Rare” from his debut album, Edgewood

Trouble the Atlanta rapper finally hit the big moment, after signing a new deal with Mike Will Made-It‘s Ear Drummers imprint at the beginning of the year, Trouble takes it back to where it all began on his debut album, Edgewood, his first project on Ear Drummer Records and Interscope.

Five months ago, Trouble was going through some things. After surrendering to four separate drug charges last November, the East Atlanta rapper’s career seemed to be on hold for an indeterminate amount of time. After serving a two-month sentence, he took to the streets in January with a new life.

Trouble‘s been going hard for so long, but when me and him drop this project,” said Mike during a Breakfast Club interview in early 2017, “I feel like this project is just gonna explode. And then Drake ended up hopping on it and everything.”

At the beginning of this month Mike Will signed the Atlanta rapper to Ear Drummer Records and paved the way for Trouble‘s new project, Edgewood. “No other producer and artist combo can pull off what Trouble and I are about to do,” Mike said. “Edgewood is only the beginning. I really felt like it was time for a level up for Trouble–I’ve been watching his grind for years now, since we were young as fuck, coming up in Atlanta on the music scene, trying to make something out of nothing. Mike Will also praised Trouble for his grind and work ethic. “Trouble is the only person from the city who’s going to give you that raw, pure, honest, real rap, mixed with originality, new flavor, new flows and new lingo. He has the grind, work ethic, and dedication to back it up and the city knows.”

Trouble thanked Mike Will on Instagram after the announcement, and said, “All my struggles served a purpose. It’s time.”

Now, Trouble has quickly followed up on his recently announced signing by dropping his major label debut, Edgewood. Now, fans won’t have to wait much longer, as the project was release Today Friday (March 23).

Ahead of Edgewood’s release, Trouble shared the tracklist, which features some of the biggest names in the music industry as Drake, The Weeknd, Quavo, Fetty Wap, Mike Will, Boosie Badazz and more guest appearances. The 16-track release is executive produced by Mike Will, who previously noted how the project was completed in just three or four days.

Drake’s feature on the album is actually from the previously released track, “Bring it Back” The song was originally dropped in December. After joining Drake on “Bring It Back,” Trouble joins The Weeknd for “Come Thru,” a standout track off his just-released Edgewood mixtape. Mike Will Made-It teams with 30Roc and Aubz Made-It for a soulful instrumental, accentuated by moving piano keys. Abel’s contributions are subtle but stirring. He drops additional vocals in the background, combining harmonies with Trouble’s grit.

The project also includes the recently released intro song, “Real Is Rare” and we bring it to you to enjoy it
