Cam’ron and Jim Jones, are back?

After more than a decade since their breakup, at the end of November 2017, the crew of Dipset announced their meeting and future plans for a new album on the MTV TRL, news that has put its fans very enthusiastic.

Their debut album, Diplomatic Immunity, was released in the spring of 2003 and featured hits such as “I’m Ready”, “I Really Mean It” and the song that made them one of the most popular rap groups in the industry. of the music “Dipset Anthem”.

But, fights between the group members caused distance and stopped any future project, although apparently, since last November, the ties between the leader of Dipset, Cam’ron, and his buddy Jim Jones have narrowed again, made evident when Jim Jones shared some images of the session Wasted Talent Session, in the “Diamond District Studios” in New York. The session became a meeting between Cam’Ron, Jim Jones and Heatmakerz, who were responsible for creating the sound behind some of Dipset’s most iconic themes.

Jim Jones shared even more images from the studio, anticipating another banker produced by Heatmakerz, after giving us a look behind the scenes of Cam’Ron with his verse acapella. Obviously, it seems that the study session was productive, as it gave way to its first single, “Once Upon a Time”, released in November 2017, was a reminder of who The Diplomats are. The new video of the individual intros with a chorus that sings “Oh, happy day” in church robes and the infamous pink scarf of Cam’ron. Jim Jones starts the song by spitting out bars about meetings with JAY-Z, signing with Roc Nation and living in New York City.

Recently, Cam’ron gave us a brief preview of their return, the night before their expected reunion, by sharing a studio video, in the company of Jim Jones and Heatmakerz, which, paired with the one in November, suggests that the duo is cooking something and, the Harlem group comes ready to deliver new songs, under the production of Heatmakerz.

The expected diplomatic meeting of the Harlem group consisting of Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones and Freaky Zekey, came with everything, and took place on January 13 at the Envy Club of New Jersey. What for now suggests that Jim and Cam are mounted on something good, given that since their separation in 2007, The Diplomats briefly met in 2010 for “Salute” during the club for the Araabmuzik era and “Have My Money” in 2015, which did not go anywhere.

“Once Upon a Time” brings nostalgia for the most beloved work of the Diplomats, recalling a time when everyone got along, however the meeting does not suggest that artists abandon their personal projects, as Cam continues to promote his recent album in solo, and his first mixtape in four years The Program.

We really hope that the duo has definitely made amends, and continue to bring us the best music as always.
